Open TT Entry Form

A question that is commonly asked by new members is "How do I fill out a CTT entry form?"

  • First up, if you haven't already got a copy of the entry form then get one from the CTT site here.
  • Second, if you're over 18 and not entering a hill climb or a team time trial forget page 2!

The front page of the form contains 4 basic sections,

  • Top Left - Event Details
  • Top Right - Rider Details
  • Middle - Previous Performances
  • Bottom - Declaration

Top Left - Event Details

Pretty straight forward, just copy the details for the event organising club, course, date and entry fee out of the CTT handbook. Put a cross in the box to indicate whether you'll be riding a bike or trike and an extra cross in the box if it happens to be a tandem with the name of your tandem partner below.

Top Right - Rider Details

Mostly self explanatory. Derby is part of the "Central District". The Veterans only bit is really only for VTTA members although many organisers don't enforce this. To be a Vet in time trials you must be over 40 and the VTTA defines age related standard times. A "plus" is how much you beat your standard time by. In some events prizes are awarded for the highest "plus".

Middle - Previous Performances

This is the section that causes most confusion! As the text above the block states enter your best times, assuming you've got any, for the distances stated from any TT including club evening events during the current and previous three seasons.

The exception to this is for National Championships where only Open events results count. Lines 6 and 7 are for the distance of the event you are entering only. Line 6 is your best time since the start of last season only, line 7 your best result ever.

Bottom - Declaration

Sign it !!! Date it !!!

Cheque payments should be made payable to the promoting club.

The declaration is standard bumph to make sure you stick to the rules, can be banned if you don't and accept the risk involved in riding on public roads etc. This last bit is critical and means that in the current litigous age you won't be allowed to start if you don't sign and date the form.

If you are under 18 make sure you get a parent/guardian to sign the similar declaration on the back of the form.
