Conditions were cold & dry for the latest round of the NDCXL.
The course, devised by Rory Screaton and his team from VC Long Eaton, allowed for fast racing with plenty of overtaking opportunities. Although generally flat, it used the terrain to provide plenty of variation, with two steep banks to run up and quite a few tricky corners.
In a reversal of last week's finishing order, Matt Crouch was the highest placed DMRC rider; his top finish only threatened by the lap counters failure to record all his laps. (memo to riders , make sure your numbers are clearly visible!)Further down the field Hilary Johnson continued to show Dave Luscombe the way round; her greater technical skill holding off his raw power.
It shows that you don't have to be up with the frontrunners to enjoy a good race.
