The many off-camber corners caused many riders to come to grief as the conditions worsened over the course of the afternoon.
The usual first lap scramble spread the field out as only the early riders could get through before it became a procession of riders running/walking through the difficult section on the bank.†The eventual winner Scott Thwaites lapped all but 12 riders as the slippery conditions caused problems.
Dave Smith was the best of the DMRC finishers in 22nd place ; Dave Banks seemed to enjoy the conditions as he finished in a very creditable 33rd position.
